New 2016 Nissan Leaf Gets a Big Jump in Range

When the Nissan Leaf debuted six years ago, it was one of the first electric cars on the market. Today the Leaf continues to set the pace in term of fuel efficiency, with the 2016 Leaf now able to go 104 miles per charge. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch the full report.

Even with the dramatic improvement in mileage performance, the engineers at Nissan still managed to preserve 24 cubic feet in the trunk is an astonishing figure for cargo hauling; dropping the rear seats will increase that to 30. It’s all thanks to storing the batteries in the floor, rather than letting them eat trunk space. And while the batteries provide increased range this year, physically they stay the same size, so none of that impressive space is impacted.
